Architect / Desktop Engineer

  • Develop entire Vista build, installation automation, group policies and data migration for a Windows 2000 migration. Build is customized for desktops, laptops, VMs and ESX utilizing Wyse terminals. Build process was fully dynamic allowing new software or drivers to be added without any recompilation. Define naming standards, documentation, helpdesk and user training, true-up application usage and licensing, utilize open source software to reduce costs, package all software for unattended automated deployment, consolidate all GPOs into one policy
  • Design Microsoft App-V (SoftGrid) infrastructure including web, file and SQL servers for multiple sites. Design includes real-time failover and a disaster recovery on desktops and Citrix
  • Build VbScript automation to publish packages and Microsoft patches in SMS. Publishing automation utilized in multiple environments by the engineering and helpdesk departments.
  • Create software packages utilizing Microsoft App-V (SoftGrid/Softricity) virtual technology for desktops and Citrix with environment specific configurations.   • Develop in-house applications for Investment Managers group:
    • Developed front-end to debug and manage Microsoft App-V (SoftGrid/Softricity) applications providing technical and non-technical users the ability to troubleshoot and repair software resulting in shorter SLAs and fewer help desk calls
  • Created VB.net Winforms XML-based sequencing application to control automated Windows installs. Application allowed one build to be created for all machines independent of hardware model or type.
  • Built VB.net Outlook add-in with Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO) to organize prospective fund of funds emails in network-based directories. XML input defined the route and which and how data was organized.
